This house was constructed in an age when there were no constraints on the architect or the builders and individual craftsmen were given full rein. As a result of most of the furniture and paintings originating either from that period just after the death of Queen Victoria or often much earlier, the house resonates with the aura of an earlier age.
The staircase is imposing with stained glass windows on the half landing and
carved balustrading.
The bedrooms have been upgraded and offer a high level of comfort, to include colour television, hair dryers, tea and coffee making facilities and a lot of reading matter on the Lakes and surrounding area.
The drawing room has a large fire with a grand piano, games table and library,
which all may be used by
our guests.
The main dining room where our guests have their breakfast has an open fire and high ceiling with a
certain elegance not seen so much these days.
